It was my first time visiting Brussels and therefore I chose this hotel for its location (in the historic centre and a 3-minute walk from the city's iconic Grande Place). I must say that perhaps the location is the real strong point of this hotel, all the main attractions of Brussels can be easily reached on foot and the hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Brussels Central Station (Brussels Ceentral). From this station, it is a 15-minute train ride to Brussels Airport. We booked a suite, which had a magnificent view of the square in front of the hotel and the tower of the town hall building. We asked for the sofa bed as a bed and they accommodated us without any problems. Although this Novotel classifies itself as a 4-star, in my opinion we were not there on the level of the rooms: peeling paint on the doors, ruined and scarred walls, etc. In my opinion the rooms need a general renovation as soon as possible. Excellent Rituals products in the bathroom, on the other hand shower (still with a bathtub) complete disaster with flooding ensured with every use. Lifts from 1989 that need be replaced. The staff at reception is a mix: some nice and friendly others not (reception is part of the bar which is a bit curious). We come to the most disastrous point of the whole stay: breakfast. The breakfast room looks like a canteen in a Belgian factory but that would be the least of it. The problem is the quality of the products: the baked goods are all pre-cooked. This might not be a problem if the staff were able to bake them: in 3 mornings always chewy, gummy and badly cooked products. No minimum of training for the waiters staff: one morning I saw customers looking for their own cutlery several times. Tables being cleared 10 minutes after people had finished. I have reported these problems directly to the parent company in France. Overall a pleasant stay even if with some troubles, but I don't know if I will return to this establishment....

Great location and the room was surprisingly quiet given the foot traffic outside. Desk crew that checked us in could have been friendlier. The aircon worked well which we appreciated since the temps outside were high 70s!!! Bed was comfy but the water pressure was horrible. Overall the room was fine for the price.

Excellent hotel and well located. Friendly and attentive staff, a delicious breakfast, and comfortable rooms make this hotel the perfect choice. Our family has stayed here twice during the end-of-year holidays, and we have nothing but great memories. The atmosphere is very pleasant and all the staff are dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. Everything was perfect. It's an excellent option when visiting Brussels, located just a few minutes from the Central Station, the Grand Place, and other incredible tourist attractions.

The Place to Be

The location is perfect, near everything and many restaurant options. Right next to the Smurf store, this busy hotel gets it right. Nice rooms, (ours had a view) and a terrific breakfast. The bathroom was modern and the towels and bedding were up market. Terry robes, too. If I return to Brussels, I'll return.

Excellent Service and location

This hotel is located right in the heart of Brussels and 2 mins walk from Central Station. What marks this hotel out though is the comfort of the room, airy and spacious with one of the highest and conformist double beds I’ve ever seen. An added bonus was a separate toilet and shower room, handy if you are sharing with someone who takes too long in the shower. They cater for business and tourism and everyone is made to feel very welcome. The rooms also have USB ports to charge your devices. Whatever your reason for visiting Brussels you can get to it easily from here whether walking or every conceivable method of transport on the doorstep. The majority of the main sites are within walking distant though some you may want to take the Metro. Food and drink options are plentiful in the vicinity and of course more chocolatiers than residents it seems. Highly recommended
